Nowadays, it’s easy to make your outfit look more complete. This is a great street style idea, if anyone is looking for one. The model in these two pictures is Bianca.

Isabel is a German born Chicago residence. When I first spotted her in Grant park I thought her out fit was peculiar because she wore all black in the blazing heat. Even though it was so hot outside I thought her outfit was well put together and stylish. She purchased her top from Marshalls and her pants from TK Maxx, which is a international version of TJ Maxx. She could dress this outfit up with a cute pair of boots or dress it down with a comfortable pair of sandals. I think a simple outfit like this is great for most occasions. You don’t need too much to look stylish and casual!

Our instructor Kikomo dressed for both style and comfort in slim cuffed Levi’s, a confederate-style black hat from EXPRESS, Cut&Sew socks from marc ecko, Ragstock brand sunglasses, and then, repping for our own group, a projectus T-shirt.

Narcotic Series: The struggle of a young ethnic and queer female.
This series consists of portraits of young queer and ethnic females such as my self who struggle to find a place within society. These photos lean towards a more darker theme. The two self portraits are taken within my home in my hallway. I intentionally dressed in my turban and dashiki which come from my west african background. I chose to portray myself and models in a darker area and used a low exposure. As a black and hispanic female I am looked down at. I am looked as if I am inferior and a second class human. My model’s face is covered and completely blacked out because this specifically symbolizes her identity, one that is taken lightly by society’s expectations and social standards. The Narcotic series is an ongoing one and will present the many lives that seem out of place within our own cities, culture, and even community, a series that displays the forgotten people of the land of the free.
